Electric Boiler Installation in Cheshire

Supply, installation, servicing and repair of electric boiler systems for flats, rentals and properties with no mains gas supply.

Expert Electric Boiler Installation in Cheshire and the North West

Electric boiler installation in Cheshire is one of our specialisms, particularly for flats, park homes and rural properties where a mains gas connection simply is not available.

An electric boiler heats water using an internal element rather than burning fuel, so there is no flue, no gas supply and no annual gas safety certificate to arrange. That makes them a practical answer for upper-floor flats, converted buildings and any property where running a gas line would be disproportionately expensive.

They are also considerably smaller than a gas combi, which matters when the only place for a boiler is a hallway cupboard. We size the unit to the property rather than fitting whatever is in stock, because an undersized boiler will struggle in winter and an oversized one wastes money on standing losses.

What We Do

  • Supply and fit of new electric boilers
  • Replacement of failed or obsolete units
  • System sizing and specification advice
  • Electric combi and system boiler installation
  • Annual servicing and safety checks
  • Fault finding and repair
  • Immersion heater and cylinder work
  • Controls, thermostats and timer upgrades

Because an electric boiler draws a significant load, the property's existing wiring and consumer unit must be able to support it. We check this as part of every quote and, where an upgrade is needed, our electrical team carries it out at the same time. Running costs depend heavily on the tariff and the insulation of the property — the Energy Saving Trust publishes impartial guidance on comparing heating systems.

Is an Electric Boiler Right for the Property?

Electric boilers are close to 100% efficient at the point of use and need very little maintenance, but electricity costs more per kilowatt hour than gas. They make most sense where there is no gas supply, where the property is small and well insulated, or where a landlord wants to remove the annual gas safety obligation from a portfolio.

We give an honest assessment rather than a sales pitch. If a property would be better served by repairing the existing system we will say so. Landlords with multiple properties often ask us to review the whole portfolio alongside our wider property maintenance service, and we are happy to do that. Electric Boiler FAQs

Common questions about electric boilers. For anything specific to your property, get in touch.

A straightforward swap where the pipework and electrical supply are already suitable usually takes one day. A first-time installation replacing storage heaters, or one needing a consumer unit upgrade, typically takes two to three days.

There is no equivalent of the Gas Safe certificate because nothing is burned, so no CP12 is required. The electrical installation still falls under the landlord EICR requirement, which we can carry out at the same time.

Per unit, electricity costs more than gas. In a small, well-insulated flat the difference is often modest, and there is no standing charge for a second fuel. We give a realistic estimate for the specific property rather than a generic figure.

Yes, and it is one of the most common upgrades we do. It gives the property a conventional wet radiator system with proper thermostatic control, which tenants generally much prefer.

Yes. We service and repair most makes of electric boiler regardless of who fitted it originally.
